Series Overview
FF is the JPJ 77th anniversary series that proved how powerful a clean double-letter prefix could be in the eBid era.
The Putrajaya-linked series opened for tender in May 2023 and closed at 10pm on 19 May after a 24-hour extension during heavy public demand for the eBid service. The numbers were then issued from June 2023.
The results made FF a benchmark. Transport minister Anthony Loke said the series collected RM34.2 million, the highest total since the launch of JPJ eBid at that point.
FF 8 led the auction at RM950,000, followed by FF 9 at RM911,999, FF 3 at RM639,000, FF 2 at RM638,000 and FF 7 at RM633,000. Demand was broad as well as expensive: 34,032 bidders took part, 8,348 bidders won numbers, and the most contested plates included FF 199, FF 51, FF 155, FF 555 and FF 1688.
FF marks the moment JPJ's anniversary plates became a major eBid benchmark. The prefix is short, symmetrical and easy to remember, so it works even before the digits are read.
That is why single digits, repeated digits and culturally lucky combinations sit at the top of the FF market, while ordinary numbers still benefit from the clean double-F shape.
