Series Overview
Jalur Gemilang II is a one-off registration carried by a single car: the Proton Satria GTi that Shamsurrijal Abdul Jamil drove on a solo overland expedition in 2003. Painted in the colours of the Malaysian flag, the car left Johor Bahru on 14 February 2003 and, over ten months and more than 45 countries, reached Moscow by 23 November 2003. The Star had reported his plan for a 180,000 km drive through 118 countries.
A family emergency forced him home, and the car was left in Russia; when he returned months later it needed only a new battery. Wikipedia lists the plate among Malaysia's special registrations, and JPJ's specification for special registration numbers sets its lettering in Book Antiqua.
