Series Overview
International organisations based in Malaysia use plates in the diplomatic style. United Nations agencies use ##-##-UN, where the first number identifies the agency (10 is UNDP and 11 is WHO) and the second the rank; 10-01-UN is the UNDP head's official car. Other international organisations use the same layout with the suffix PA.
The characters are white on red or white on black. JPJ's plate specification lists the United Nations and the International Natural Rubber Association among the users of red plates.
These ##-##-UN plates should not be confused with UN, the university series that Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia announced in 2023 and then cancelled.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does 10-01-UN mean?
10 is the code for UNDP and 01 is the rank, so 10-01-UN is the official car of the UNDP head in Malaysia.
Is a UN 1234-style plate a United Nations car?
No. UN 1 to UN 9999 was a university series that Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia announced in 2023 and cancelled before any numbers were sold. United Nations plates use the ##-##-UN layout.
