Model-specific series for the Proton Persona, launched in 2007. Proton, repeating its earlier strategy (Waja, Gen-2, etc.), offered PERSONA 1-9999 to new buyers of the 2007 Persona. These plates aimed to build model identity. For example, a Proton Persona with a "PERSONA" plate reinforced the car's branding. Initial response was good among Persona owners; many dealerships bundled the special plate in sales packages for higher-end trims. Proton Persona official fleet cars (like media test units) also sported PERSONA plates during launch year. Once the model's novelty wore off, remaining numbers were sold through JPJ counters until exhausted. As of now, a fair number of PERSONA plates remain in use, typically on the first-gen Persona (which is still common on roads). They aren't extremely rare due to the volume (nearly 10k), but over time as cars age out, these plates become less seen. The series is a nostalgic nod to Proton's mid-2000s era of giving each new model its own vanity plate – an era that has since ended.
