Series Overview
RIMAU is the series released for the 2017 SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games, which Malaysia hosted in Kuala Lumpur in August and September 2017. Rimau, the Malay word for tiger, was the name of the Games' Malayan tiger mascot, and the organisers also gave it an acronym: Respect, Integrity, Move, Attitude and Unity.
The Youth and Sports Ministry (KBS) released RIMAU 1 to RIMAU 9999 through JPJ, announcing the series in February 2017. Online bidding opened on 1 April 2017, with bids starting from RM500, and the proceeds went towards the cost of hosting the Games.
Unlike most series of the period, RIMAU was a government release through JPJ rather than one sold by a private organisation.
