Series Overview
UR is the special series of Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP). Instead of the university's acronym, the plate uses U for UniMAP and R, Perlis's state code, a pairing that had also been UniMAP's code in the UPU university admissions system.
Bidding for UR 1 to UR 9999 opened on 25 February 2021, with UR 1 offered at an opening price of RM300,000 and a target of up to RM10 million. The sale was managed by Aquatwo Sdn Bhd. By the end of March 2021 UniMAP had sold about 3,000 numbers for RM2.2 million, which its board chairman Raja Datuk Azwane Raja Ariff called the highest by any public university. UR 1 went to a Kuala Lumpur company for RM200,000, followed by UR 10 at RM130,000, UR 33 at RM65,000 and UR 55 at RM63,000.
