Series Overview
UUM is the special series of Universiti Utara Malaysia in Sintok, Kedah. JPJ approved UUM 1 to UUM 9999 in December 2019, and the first bidding round ran from 16 February to 1 March 2020 on the university's own site, UUMplate.
Sales ran for years rather than days. Astro Awani reported in April 2024 that the plates were open to the public and to companies, not only the UUM community, with about 3,800 numbers sold and about 6,200 still available. UUMplate later announced that sales had closed and that numbers already bought had to be registered with JPJ before 1 December 2025.
