Series Overview
V_MY is the special series created for Visit Malaysia 2026, the national tourism campaign. The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) launched it with JPJ in Putrajaya on 10 June 2026, with the announcement delivered by deputy minister Chiew Choon Man on behalf of minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing. The plate reads V, the number, then MY, from V 1 MY to V 9999 MY: V for Visit and MY for Malaysia.
Bidding ran on JPJeBid from 13 June until 10pm on 17 June 2026. Minimum bids followed the standard tiers: RM20,000 for golden numbers, RM5,000 for premium, RM2,500 for attractive, RM500 for popular and RM300 for running numbers. The ministry said the series would help raise funds to promote Visit Malaysia 2026 to domestic and international travellers.
JPJ has not published separate results for V_MY. The government's 2026 special-series revenue up to mid-September, covering FH, P_P and V_MY, stood at RM36.6 million.
Because the plate starts with V, it can be mistaken for a Kuala Lumpur registration; the MY suffix is what marks it as the tourism series.
