Series Overview
WCEC is the special prefix of the World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention. The only dated record of the plates is from the 17th convention, held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from 9 to 11 September 2024 and organised by the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM). Proton lent 20 X90 Flagship SUVs to carry VVIP delegates, and paultan.org photographed one at the venue wearing WCEC 50 on a standard black plate.
WCEC does not appear to have been sold by public bidding. It was not among the special series JPJ offered on JPJeBid in 2024, which were GOLD, FFF, EV, PETRA and MADANI, and no sale of a WCEC number has been reported, which points to a direct allocation for the convention rather than a public release. JPJ has not published the range, the date of allocation or its terms. Malaysia also hosted the 7th convention, in Kuala Lumpur in July 2003, but no WCEC plates from that year have been found, and English Wikipedia's WCEC 1 to WCEC 100 has no supporting source.
