XX

Series Overview

XX is the double-letter X special registration series announced in April 2018.

Public reporting described it as another special plate series from Yayasan Modal Insan Harta, the same organisation associated with the GG plates earlier that year. The series was reported as running from XX 1 to XX 9999, following the same broad wave of short, eye-catching prefixes such as UU and YY.

That timing is part of the story. XX arrived near the end of the older special-series period, when foundations and appointed channels were still releasing short premium prefixes just before Malaysia moved more decisively toward official JPJ e-bidding.

XX is less richly documented than a modern JPJeBid launch, but its core identity is clear: a 2018 YMIH-linked special series built around one of the sharpest two-letter shapes available.

XX is a typography plate. It works because the two letters are short, symmetrical and instantly readable on a car.

The letter X also carries a harder, more international feel than many Malaysian word plates. It does not need to spell a slogan; it looks premium because it is compact, mirrored and visually clean.

XX 1, XX 8, XX 88, XX 888, XX 2020 and other clean patterns have obvious collector logic, while ordinary four-digit numbers depend more on personal meaning. The attraction is graphic first: two hard letters, a short shape and plenty of visual space for the number.
