Series Overview
G is the single-letter series approved by JPJ for the Lee Chong Wei Foundation in 2017. The letter was presented as G for gold, the Olympic medal the badminton star and Malaysia had long chased, and proceeds were meant to support sports associations and promising athletes towards a first Olympic gold at Tokyo 2020.
The appointed agent, Yakin Emas Sdn Bhd, took bids for G 1 to G 9999 until 29 September 2017, with results due in October. G 2 to G 10 started from RM250,000 and G 1 from RM500,000.
Like other organisation-issued series, unregistered G numbers lapsed when JPJ ended such sales on 31 December 2019.
